Telecom’s business emerged to RM in 1999 and rapidly became the main focus of performance for the company.


During this period, RM progressed rapidly in the Telecom segment, be it in the quantity of services provided or in terms of geographic coverage area of the company.


In 1999, for example, RM took over 17% of Ceará’s maintenance and installation of landline networks, terminals of public usage (TPU) and access lines (AL). In the following year, it was already responsible for 30% of these services in Ceará, Piauí and Maranhão.


From 2001, new states, new clients and new telecommunication services were added by RM.


By the end of 2009, RM had already acted in nine states, performing services and projects in infrastructure Telecom; maintenance of landline telephone services; services in data, voice, broadband and fiber optics, as well as the transmission and mobile telephone services. The area of performance of RM included the states of Alagoas, Pernambuco, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará, Piauí, Maranhão, Roraima and Amazonas.


In March 2010, RM Telecom started to operate in seven new states: Pará, Amapá, Bahia, Sergipe, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. With this, the performance of RM started to reach more than 3 thousand counties of Brazil.
